The land was given to Skagit County Parks and Recreation by Warren Pressentin and dedicated on August 11, 1991. Frank Pressentin was the son of Charles and Minnie. Charles and Minnie Pressentin settled in Birdsview in 1878. Frank married Mabel in 1904 and purchased the Pressentin Homestead. It was reported by Warren that they planted the orchard in 1906. Some of the original trees are in bloom in the photos on the Foundation’s web site. Mabel operated the Pioneer Hotel, now known as The Log House Inn until 1920. Mabel was appointed Post Master of the Marblemount post office in 1925. Warren Pressentin was the son of Frank and Mabel.
